4 Charities. 4,000km. 1 unfit 40 year old idiot.
The Challenge
On 19 January 2027, I turn 40. Between now and then, I'm going to travel 4,000 kilometres entirely under my own steam - running, cycling, swimming, kayaking, rowing, and probably a few methods nobody's thought of yet.
That's roughly 15km a day, every day, for the best part of a year. Some of it will be through the hills and lochs of Galloway. Some of it will be at midnight on a turbo trainer. All of it will be tracked, documented, and shared.
Along the way, I want to raise money for causes that matter. And I want the people who back me to have a real say in where it goes.
Every penny you donate goes to my four chosen charities - British Heart Foundation, Prostate Cancer UK, CALM, and UNICEF. That's guaranteed, no matter how far I get. But when you donate, you also pick a number between 1 and 3,999 - your prediction for how many kilometres I actually cover. If I fall short of 4,000km, whoever guesses closest wins £1,000 from me, donated to a charity of their choice. If more than one person is equally close, the £1,000 is split.
How It Works
Three steps. That's it.
Donate. Pick a number. That's it - your donation goes to charity whatever happens.
My Four Charities
All donations go here, regardless of how far I get. I'll share more about why each one matters to me throughout the challenge.
Win £1,000 for Your Charity
Pick any charity you like.
If your number is closest to my final total, I'll donate £1,000 to any charity you choose. You pick it - I'll donate it. No restrictions, no shortlist.
